The Bengali film director Atanu Ghosh won the 'Lankesh Chitra Prashasti for 2009'for his film 'Angshumaner Chobbi'. A stalwart literary personality, popular journalist and creative film maker late P Lankesh award will be given away at Senate Hall in Central College Bangalore on 7th March 2010.

South India's popular actor and producer Prakash Raj, the acclaimed Kannada film director Kavitha Lankesh and film critic Sandeep Nayak were the members of jury that selected Bengali film 'Angshumaner Chobbi' out of 6 Hindi Films, 1 English, 1 Kannada, 1 Rajasthani, 1 Malyalam, 1 Tamil, 1 Assamese, 1 Konkani and two Bengali films.

`Angshumaner Chobbi' is about the journey of four people through the making of a film. The director of the film within the film returns to India after studying film making in Italy. He has an interesting script on the curious relationship between a septuagenarian painter and a young nurse. He is determined to cast a self exiled 75 year old actor and a frustrated former leading actress in his film.

Atanu Ghosh film will be screened after the awards presentation at 6 pm on 7th March with English subtitles.

The award is given in memory of stalwart personality illustrious P Lankesh who died in 2000. P Lankesh daughter Kavitha Lankesh constituted this award. P Lankesh as director of quality films in Kannada won national award for 'Pallavi' and his daughter Kavitha also won national award for her 'Deveeri' debut direction.
