A new year always bring new hopes. Kollywood 's 2011 releases look promising. We are listing films that have potential to be different and may work at the box-office. Our list does not have any from the Pongal menu, as we can taste it in a weeks' time. The list only contains films that are on the floor in various stages of production, as per alphabetic order.

Buzz on the flick- Bala one of the pathbreaking directors in Tamil films is moving away from his usual dark genre to a rollicking comedy. Arya and Vishal are coming together for the first time along with new girls and Yuvan's music.

Buzz on the flick- Selva is said to be going back to his roots by making a simple romantic movie told in a different way. It is rumoured to be a passionate love story, with a fantastic performance by Dhanush. Selva and Yuvan who created magic with their music are together again after a break.

Buzz on the flick - Anand's last outing with Harris Jayaraj resulted in Ayan, a mass entertainer which was packaged in a different way. Can Anand create the same magic with lessor known actors like Jiiva and Karthika?

Buzz on the flick- Thala is teaming up for the first time with Venkat known for his rollicking comedies. The multi starrer may work big time as today's audiences like packaged entertainment with lots of glitz and stars.

Buzz on the flick- Rajinikanth's real life son-in-law Dhanush is doing a remake of the superstar's 1989 super hit Maapillai. There is terrific title value and curiosity around the project. And there is bound to be comparisons which itself will be the USP of the film.

Buzz on the flick- The Deputy Chief Minister MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin, a leading producer is debuting as hero in a Rajesh directed film. The director has a terrific track record of making feel good youthful family entertainers. Will Rajesh and Udhayanidhi triumph?

Buzz on the flick- A remake of Telugu multi starrer which created waves for its fresh new genre and treatment. Everybody is waiting to see Simbu dancing to Yuvan's music in the company of Anushka.

Buzz on the flick- Mysskin directing Cheran as an investigation police officer is reason enough to see the film. The director known for his unusual item numbers is introducing noted director Ameer in a special item dance with Neetu Chandra to the tune of a new music director K.

Buzz on the flick- This romantic musical directed by Prabhu Deva is shot entirely in Paris and other European countries. It is a feel good film with foot-tapping songs tuned by Harris Jayaraj. The audio is already a hit and the film is sure to appeal to upmarket, multiplex audiences.

Buzz on the flick- The most exciting and eagerly awaited project of the year where the Ghajini team of Suriya- Murgadoss- Harris Jayaraj , are back. Made on a big budget and shot in exotic locations around the globe, people are looking forward to Suriya- Shruthi on screen chemistry.
